This week seen the start of something fresh for The Playlist DJ’s. As we continue to share our content which ranges from deep house to oldskool with some new tunes and funny clips interspersed with various playlists and the like we did a bit of a focus recently on House Music Internet Radio Stations to mix things up a bit.
One of the stations we name checked was Street Sounds Radio. After posting, we started chatting to their Saturday night presenter Andy ( @the_only_love_fever on IG). After some good, positive get to know you chit chat, we discovered that we both personally liked the same style of deep, funky, soulful, vocal and disco house so deicded to fuse our playlist passion and his radio show together to come up with ‘Tune of The Week’.
TUNE OF THE WEEK
The mechanics of Tune of The Week are as follows. We both pick x3 tunes each from forthcoming releases on various platforms. For week one we went all in on Traxsource releases and you can find our slections in the below Instagram post.
Once the tunes are picked, they are collated, the snippets recorded and the tunes are displayed on both our Instagram pages. They will be published every Friday and the track that gets the most votes is played live on Andy’s show which us The Love Fever Show’ and goes out Live every Saturday night from 8pm to 10pm.
If you’ve nominated a track you might also get a mention on the station so it would be wise to tune in. That said, we will be making a recording of that part of the show and it will be played on the Playlist DJ’s Instagram Page on the Sunday after the show.
On top of that, I will be keeping all the tracks in a Spotify Playlist as soon as they are released over there. In addition, you can check all the tracks out in our Traxsource Chart.
STREET SOUNDS RADIO
We had a quick word with Andy over on Instagram and he said this about the new feature:
”Putting together a tune of the week is a feature that can be daunting with the amount of new tunes available each week, so after seeing Playlistdj’s and speaking with Gary we thought it a good idea to get listeners and viewers involved in choosing the music.”
