Growing Your Social Media For DJs
Find The Genres You’re Into
There are a larger variety of music genres out there from House to Techno to Hip-Hop to Pop Charts. All over social media there are pages such a PlaylistDJ which basis itself on classic electronic hits but it also shares up and coming electronic tracks too. Also there is a page called Future House Music which is all based on club like anthems. The point I am making is it is key that you network with people who are into the same genres as you as you can support their pages and you will receive support back which is one way to help grow your page.
It is very important to always keep your followers up to date with all your work and events and any other relevant content such as releasing new music. When posting on my page I try to make it as eye-catching and interactive as much as possible. I will add key points into my post for followers to comments such as “Let me know your thoughts on this track” or “Your feedback would be amazing for this new track” This will give followers the urge to interact with your post and help you know if you’re on the right track to success or where improvements can be made for next time.
Creating a Caption For Your Post
I use relevant hashtags and emoticons when putting together a post too. Examples or hashtags I use is #HouseMusic #Scotland #DJ. When I do my hashtags I am trying to get across the key points on who I am and what I do and what I am interested in. So the hashtags I have used as an example shows that this person is a Scottish DJ who is into House Music. This will then guide people who are into Djs, Scotland and House Music to your post and also your page too, which will help get more notice and grow because of this.
Getting Back To Your Followers
Throughout growing my social media accounts I have found that one of the biggest aspects to this is giving back your followers. When followers or people visiting your page or posts interact with you saying that they are enjoying your content or are really supporting you, it is really important to reply to them on your post or even drop them a message thanking them for their great comment and also let them know how their pages is doing in a positive to add them as a fan and follower. You can also do giveaways for your followers as they have supported you a lot. An example would be that you could giveaway some headphones for your followers who have helped you with your page growth. This increases page interaction, followers and likes as fans feel that they are worth something to your page and may tell their other followers to check out your page because of this.
Patience and Enjoyment
Growing anything in life takes time but if you’re passionate and enjoy what you’re doing then anything can be achieved. I have always loved music in general and wanted to start sharing my own music and also the music I enjoy to listen to. For any DJs out there growing their page I would say just have fun with it and be as creative as you can. I feel there are no rules to this and I love to see all the new ideas and music genres being created to this day.
